EUREKA links Europe’s financial resources and expertise in order to simplify access to funds for realising European research and development projects.
The contacts assist with project preparation and implementation besides providing information about suitable funding programs and other forms of financing.
In Germany, the EUREKA office is located at the DLR Project Management Agency and functions as a national contact for EUREKA on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Since its foundation in 1985, EUREKA has become an established part of the European research landscape.
The European Commission and 40 states are currently classed as full members: along with the European Union member states, these include the former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Israel, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Switzerland, Serbia, Ukraine and Turkey.
The Republic of Korea, Canada and South Africa are classed as associates.
